W.A. Young & Ann Young

He was raised in a Southern Baptist home in Arkansas. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Business Administration. In 1967 he and his wife Ann were married. They have two married daughters, four grand daughters, and one grand son.

W.A. at the pulpitAfter he was saved, he made a commitment to serve the Lord full time in 1971. Soon thereafter he began to function in the ministry. He has pastored and ministered throughout the central Arkansas area, particularly in Little Rock, where he pastored for 19 years. His ministry has taken him to churches throughout the U.S., various cities in Ireland and throughout the British Isles, and Central America

He and his wife moved to Tallahassee, Florida in September of 1995, for Dr. Young to assume the pastorate of TCC. His vision is to see God glorified in His people. Simply stated, he desires to see the church bring the spiritual dynamics of historical Christianity as defined by sound doctrine and an understanding of the Kingdom of God that is in the Holy Spirit. When this is accomplished, God is glorified in His people!

"With the decline of sound Biblical teaching in this century has come a downward spiral of proper teaching of historical truths. This has resulted in a people “tossed about by every wind of doctrine.” This is reflected in a rejection of the work of the Holy Spirit in extending the Kingdom of God in time and space through the people of God." A "feel good" mentality has developed in American Evangelicalism. Mistakenly, we believe that God exists for us and not us for Him. We should realize that man's highest and chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!"
